One of those times I felt especially alone in facing my challenges occurred yesterday. God surprised me with a reminder of His care for me.
For the whole day I had felt especially vulnerable and alone so I prayed for God to show me His care for me.
One of my errands that evening required a trip to the grocery store. As I headed down the yogurt aisle, I looked up to see a friend of mine smiling at me. He was with three young people and he came up to me and greeted me.
He said, “We’re out praying for people this evening and wondered if you might have a prayer request.”
I shared a couple things with him and mainly asked for prayers for strength. Then one of the girls prayed for me. Her prayer touched my heart and brought me to tears.
After she finished, I shared with them, “Sometimes I feel so alone. God is showing me very clearly that I am not alone. I have never had anybody offer to pray for me before in the grocery store. What are the chances on a night when I needed it the most, God would put it on your heart to do this. Thank you!”
God has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:6 (ESV)
